Cover : Community & Connection
The wonderful founders at Cover: Community & Connection came up with their startup idea like many others before, over a few glasses of wine on vacation! The team at Cover loved volunteering in the Austin area, but they wanted an easier way to connect with charities for volunteering opportunities. They hatched a plan to not only make it easier for volunteers to sign up, but for charities to plan volunteering opportunities.
We worked with great design and development partners to help create an app for Cover that covered both sides of the volunteering market.
One side of the app lets pre-approved charities create and manage volunteering events. Charities are able to schedule them well in advance and send them out to a community of volunteers. This allows the charities to focus on the actual work helping the world, and not waste time trying to hunt down and communicate with volunteers.

The other side of the app was directly for volunteers, who could log in and see all nearby volunteering opportunities. And we know users are used to modern mobile apps, so this had to feel like a premiere experience for them!
The great designers on the app really created something eye popping and modern for the Cover team. This one was all about an amazing user experience that made it as simple and seamless as possible for both charities and volunteers to work together.
This was a mobile first solution, really leveraging the amazing power of the phones we carry with us everywhere. With just a few clicks on the phone, a charity could have a full event planned and ready to go!
We really loved working with the Cover team. They came in with no previous software experience, but lots of previous success in the business world. We made sure they knew exactly what we were doing day to day, and helped guide them on their journey into the software world!
